February Newsletter – Happy Month of LOVE! (agape, eros, and more!)

Hello Friends & Colleagues!

2015 has started out with a bang! My focus has turned more to my private practice so I have fun events and news to tell you about. I will be sending this newsletter out monthly to share what’s happening, each with a relevant topical theme… In February we’ve been celebrating LOVE! (in all of its forms!)

Included in this edition:
1) What’s News?
2) Upcoming March Events
3) Gratitude and Appreciation
4) Topic Related Articles and Links
5) How to Connect with Among Friends

So far February has been super cozy despite the cool weather! I just facilitated an official LoveTribe Snuggle Party for almost 100 people – at the first ever Cuddle Convention held at Cuddle up to Me. It was amazing to help bring positive platonic touch to so many people… I’d say we have many new converts! Also this month I started co-hosting a Snuggle Movie Night with Oregon Touch which will be a regular event on my calendar. Come see a fun flick and snuggle up to a new friend!

I’m also excited to be one of the panel members for a Human Sexuality Class at Pacific University. This will be helping graduate level students who are counseling and social work majors learn more about different expressions of sexuality!

Lastly, I’ve just put the finishing touches on my new and improved Training Menus. The I/DD Training Menu is for professionals regarding clients with developmental disabilities, to deal specifically with my expertise in Social-Sexual Support Services. The other, Sexual Assault Prevention Training Menu is geared toward college and university students. Please contact us if you would like more information or to book a training.

I want to share my gratitude for the opportunity to attend Teri Ciacchi’s Living Love Revolution Temple event over the weekend of February 5-8, 2015. It was so healing for me and such a wonderful re-connection with community!

*** And here are a few kind words from others ***

“I’ve been feeling moved to share just how grateful I am for you. Your gentle witnessing was crucial in my healing this last weekend. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” B.P.

“I want to thank you for all that you did for me. It was really your push that gave the strength, and the sight, to know my marriage wasn’t healthy. I really, really needed to hear your words at that time.” S.F.

“I felt so inspired by the work that you do and I am VERY interested in starting a touch-positive movement in my area as well. … Thank you, thank you, and thank you.” S.C.

Did you know that different cultures define different types of Love? I’ve come across as many as seven different types that I identify with… from self-love to unconditional, all-inclusive love. And I hope our culture stops portraying Love as obsessive and controlling and begins to associate Love with healthy, respectful connections with our families, friends, and romantic partners!
