Description:

We can and should expect people to seek romantic relationships and express their sexuality. When they do, it is important to understand how to balance safety with empowerment. Learn how to teach people to make informed decisions about their relationships and sexuality, and explore practical skills for supporting the sexuality of the individuals you support (from children to adults). Build a foundation of proactive, preventative strategies to use with people you work with.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand our basic human needs for connection and sexual expression

  • Learn about dignity of risk and supported decision-making

  • Recognize the value of, and need for, proactive and preventative social-sexual support strategies and services

  • Explore how to address social-sexual issues/concerns or behaviors that need support

Continuing Education Credits:

  • Approved for CEUs for Oregon Foster Care and Long-Term Care Providers

  • Approved for CEs for Washington State Long-Term Care Workers through Training Program Among Friends, LLC (WA753791) under DSHS CE Approval Code

Available Formats:

  • Fast Track (1.5 hours) - between 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm PT

  • Half Day (3 hours) - between 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm PT

  • Full Day (6 hours) - 9am-4pm PT with an hour lunch
