Description:

Find out what you need to know about trauma-informed care - from policies and procedures to designing spaces and avoiding retraumatization. This training is designed to give you an understanding of how prevalent trauma is and the emotional, interpersonal, neurological, and behavioral impacts it has. It will give participants an overview of the framework for trauma-informed care and strategies for trauma informed policies, practices, and systems.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define trauma

  • Look at different types of trauma and understand impacts

  • Recognize trauma triggers and response behaviors

  • Explore resilience factors

  • Understand how social services have historically re-traumatized people

  • Define Trauma-Informed Care

  • Develop strategies for offering Trauma Informed Services and creating Trauma Informed Spaces

Continuing Education Credits:

  • Approved for CEUs for Oregon Foster Care and Long-Term Care Providers
