Sexual Health and Relationships Education (SHARE) Curriculum & Instructors
The SHARE Curriculum
The Sexual Health and Relationships Education (SHARE) curriculum was developed for graduates of the the 3-tiered Sexual Self-Determination Certification Program to teach in their communities in order to increase the capacity of parents and caregivers to support the sexual health of people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD).
Certified SHARE instructors complete Tier 3: Train-the-Trainer where they learn the knowledge and skills to deliver SHARE trainings to other professionals, caregivers, and family members on the foundations of sexual health and development in a way that is rights-based, medically accurate, and trauma-informed.
SHARE instructors complete a Recertification training each year where they receive updates to the curriculum, share their experiences teaching throughout the year, and collaborate with other participants in the certification program.
