Lindzey Ramos (she/her)

Behavior Professional

Hello! My name is Lindzey. I’m passionate about helping others, and believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live a healthy and happy life. I believe that mental health resources and affordable nutrient dense foods should be made affordable and accessible to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic class. I have supported youth and young adults for 7 plus years working as an educator, resource advocate, intellectual and developmental disability (ID/DD) direct support staff, and reengagement program coordinator. Each role provided me with a vastly diverse experience in helping others where I was able to support individuals with different ethnicities, socioeconomic status, history of trauma, and gender identity. As a Behavior Professional at Among Friends, I will work diligently alongside my team to provide positive support and thoughtful care with every client I work in partnership with.

In my free time I love to stay active and enjoy new experiences. I love to surf, skateboard, paint, thrift, and travel to new places when I can. I also enjoy cooking and spending time with family and friends. My goal in life is to fully enjoy the human experience, good and bad. I believe life is beautiful and I often try to make time to romanticize even the smallest of moments. In both my personal and professional life I try to lead with understanding, positivity, and humility, while also prioritizing having fun!

  • B.S. Psychology from Eastern Oregon University

I plan to earn my Masters in Behavioral Health.

  • I have 7+ years of worked experience in the field of ID/DD support services.

  • Most of my career working in the ID/DD field was in a school setting. I supported youth who had academic challenges, current or past gang affiliations, experiences with homelessness, ID/DD diagnosis, and socio-economic challenges. I found great enjoyment in helping youth find success in academic and personal lives through coaching and ongoing support.

  • My philosophy when it comes to my work is that I work diligently to meet the expectations of my job, that I maintain a high level of authenticity to myself, and that I approach each day with optimism and a positive mindset. Balancing those three things has really helped me to find major fulfillment in my professional life.

  • I have always been proud of how I have handled high intensity situations and be able to help others through difficult times. Professional moments I'm proud of are when past students write me to thank me for helping them work through the hardships they experienced and how it helped them get to where they were now. In some cases, it was small, like helping them build the courage to try out a new sport and that eventually helped them integrate healthy habits in their later years. In other cases, I helped a student deal with suicidal ideations and lack of self-love, and they now describe themselves as happy and glad to be alive. Anytime I hear that I was a positive person in someone's life I feel thankful and proud.

  • I love helping others and I enjoy working for Among Friends because it allows me to work in a career where I can provide resources that can help positively change someone's life. It's rewarding and fulfilling.

Get to Know Lindzey

  • In my personal time I like to travel, go surfing, listen to music, and paint.

  • No pets at the moment but I love dogs and may eventually get another golden retriever down the road. They are the best dogs, and I miss having one as a companion sometimes.

  • I'm currently living on the Oregon Coast after having lived in Portland for the last 11 years. I'm only a 10-minute drive from the ocean and my home is tucked up into the Tillamook forest so my view from my dining table is beautiful, lush, and green year-round.

  • I do not have children, but maybe someday.

  • I was born and raised in Hermiston, OR where I grew up on my family farm. After High School I lived in Boise, ID and then eventually made the move to Portland in 2013. In 2024 I decided to move to coast, and I've been here since. I dream of someday traveling the world and possibly living in another country for a period of time, but Oregon will always be home.

  • Quarantine made me become more aware of the importance of human connection. I was very fortunate to not have lost anyone due to the virus and was able to work remotely.

  • I love traveling. My furthest trip from home was to Paris, France. I visited one of my friends and I was able to experience Paris like a local and it made it so incredibly special. The entire trip was filled with amazing culture, food, and memories. I can't wait to travel globally again.

  • My first concert was N*SYNCE. I was maybe 8 years old and they were not famous yet. It was funny because I hardly knew who they were and then months later was obsessed just like the rest of the world was when they blew up.

  • I'm a secret nerd. I love Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Star Wars, and Harry Potter.

  • One of my favorite meals is a chicken Cesear salad, a side of fries, and a root beer. It's hardly a real meal but always puts me in a good mood.
