Sexual Health & Relationships Education (SHARE)
Curriculum & Instructors
“I loved hearing about facilitation tips. I have been presenting for 20 years, and I still learned new things! And I love this group! ”
About the SHARE Curriculum
The Sexual Health and Relationships Education (SHARE) curriculum was developed for graduates of the the 3-tiered Sexual Self-Determination Certification Program to teach in their communities. Based off of the information in Tier 1: FOUNDATIONS, it is also designed to increase the capacity of parents and caregivers to support the sexual health of people living with disabilities and disorders, and who may need long-term care.
Certified SHARE instructors complete Tier 3: Train-the-Trainer where they learn the knowledge and skills to deliver SHARE trainings to other professionals, caregivers, and family members on the foundations of sexual health and development in a rights-based, medically accurate, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed manner.
SHARE instructors complete a Recertification session each year where they receive updates to the curriculum, share their experiences teaching throughout the year, and collaborate with other instructors in the certification program.
