Shanya’s Training Experience:

Shanya has been a sexuality educator and facilitating social-sexual trainings for over 20 years. She has presented at countless conferences, retreats, and events. View Shanya's Resume and Training Portfolio.

In addition to training, she is a published author and storyteller. Her most recent article was in Impact Magazine. Her stories have been featured on Mystery Box and the Portland Moth Stage; and she has been featured in two short documentaries about the importance of nurturing touch. She has also been a guest on the podcasts, Strange Bedfellows and Disability Justice.

Shanya founded Among Friends in 2012 and is the Director of the Training & Resources program. She is the lead trainer for the agency.

    Shanya Luther is a social-sexual ecologist and training consultant with over 25 years of experience. She studied Human Development, has a Masters of Divinity, and is the founder and co-owner of Among Friends.

    For over two decades Shanya has been teaching parents and professionals how to help someone meet their basic human needs related to relationships and sexuality, while protecting their legal rights, assisting them to stay safe and healthy, and keeping their behaviors legal.
